Merfolk(Aquavulgares)

The merfolk of Terrastrium, live in the sea kingdoms Thecia, Atlana, and Levialina. They all can live on land, as when they come to the shore and their tails dry they turn into legs. To return to their true form they must submerge their bodies fully in a large amount of water(such as bathtubs and larger bodies, the rain just makes them feel refreshed.) Aquavulgares are seen as protectors of the sea, they often help guide lost ships to safety. They also are helpful to fishermen as they helped to improve the fishing trade, however, there is a tragedy that can befall them. Aquavulgares are so in-tuned with their emotions and water, they go with the flow just like the currents, but they love deeply. If an Aquavulgares is betrayed by a loved one, it affects them greatly, if the issue isn't addressed and amended, they will become a dread of the seas, a Siren. Once an Aquavulgares become a Siren they cannot turn back, they dedicate their life to murdering sailors and any sea folk that tries to stop them.
